When We're 64

New book from Louise Ansari, published by Green Tree – Bloomsbury, gives the essential guide to making sure you have a fabulous later life.

Featured publications

Our report gives a snapshot of ageing today and in the future, focusing on the areas we know make a difference to people’s later lives.

Mobility and transport are key in helping people to remain healthy, active and connected in later life. This report explores how the current transport system is complex and fragmented, leading to barriers in innovation and collaboration to support healthier later lives.

This review of community contributions in later life calls on charities, voluntary organisations and the public sector to do more to support and sustain the good will and effort of older volunteers.

Our work

Our goal is 1 million more people aged 50 to 69 in fulfilling work by 2022.

Our goal is that by 2030 there will be 1 million fewer homes defined as hazardous and half of all new homes will meet accessibility standards.

Our goal is for people to have five more years free of preventable disability, and to reduce the gap between the richest and poorest people in disability-free life expectancy by 2035.

Our goal is to see an increase in the proportion of people aged 50 and over who report they feel they strongly belong to their neighbourhood.

Beyond our main areas of work, we work on broader issues that are important in changing society to ensure we have good later lives.

We want more people to live in age-friendly communities.
