Innovation in ageing
We want to see more innovation to support people to age better.

We influence the government and work with others to stimulate new innovations and encourage key players, including businesses and investors, to see the opportunities of the UK’s age shift.
There’s recently been promising growth and interest in activity around ageing innovation and investment. But many of the ventures recently developed are limited in scope, developed in isolation, and rarely reach significant scale.
From innovative solutions that help older workers manage their health at work, to inclusive products that support people to live independently at home, our ambition is to see more products and services that meet the diverse needs and wants of people aged 50 and over.
To shift people’s experience of ageing and later life, there also needs to be a much more systematic approach to supporting the development and scaling of interventions to help people live healthier, longer lives.
We’re working with UK Research and Innovation to run the Community of Practice – a learning community that brings together many strands of the Healthy Challenge.
