Communications Assistant (Media)

As Media Assistant you will carry out a wide variety of communications activity across both proactive and reactive media work. Using all forms of print and broadcast media you will support the Communications Officer.

The closing date for this role is 5pm on Friday 29th November, with interviews to take place on Friday 6th and Tuesday 10th December.

Centre for Ageing Better has an exciting opportunity for a skilled communicator to join our team as a Communications Assistant for Media. If you are passionate about improving later life and have the skills to tell the stories of those we support, we’d like to hear from you.

About the role

As Media Assistant you will carry out a wide variety of communications activity across both proactive and reactive media work. Using all forms of print and broadcast media you will support the Communications Officer across tasks including drafting press releases, sourcing case studies, identifying target media, selling in stories and building relationships with key journalists. You will work with colleagues from all teams on brand development, publishing and design, managing suppliers and crafting rich media, ensuring that stories of people with lived experience remain at the centre of our work.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience of media work in a similar context and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy. You will be equipped with excellent time management and fast writing skills with the ability to absorb long and complex policy issues quickly, turning them into clear and compelling content. An interest in Ageing Better’s agenda is essential.
