Heather brings over 25 years senior experience creating change and leading projects across regeneration, urban design and landscape planning/architecture in both public and private sectors.
She has held various senior roles, in regeneration, design and infrastructure organisations, including at the London Development Agency, leading a team across the Greater London Authority group (LDA, GLA and TfL), leading key strategic relationships and taking oversight of the Thames Gateway programme, one of the largest regeneration schemes in Europe. She delivered projects/programmes worth in excess of £100million, addressing inequalities, deprivation and market failure. These encompassed, transport, housing, public realm, green infrastructure, business/creative sectors, employment and community capacity building projects. She also represented the LDA, the accountable body, at a number of regeneration partnership boards. Other roles included leading the programme at a regeneration partnership, leading a transport interchange and bike park project, plus other transport, environment and open space projects, ranging in scale from community gardens to green infrastructure planning for new developments.
She has worked at all stages of the design, planning and construction process, including in private practice for local authority and developer clients, leading landscape design, impact assessment and master-planning projects, resulting in change of use for up to 3,000 new homes.
She is qualified in architecture and landscape architecture, a Chartered Landscape Architect and previously elected Member of the Institute of Economic Development.
