Located in England’s north west, Greater Manchester is one of the country’s most successful city-regions and home to 2,798,799 – of which approximately 33% are aged 50 or over.
 
In 2015 there were 907,000 people aged 50 or over in Greater Manchester; twenty years from now 1.1 million people in GM will be over 50 – that’s 37% of the city region. In 2018, Greater Manchester became the UK’s first city-region to join the Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities
 
Greater Manchester Ageing Hub brings together partners across the city-region to establish the age-friendly model across GM. Based in the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, partners include the ten Greater Manchester councils, Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, local universities and the voluntary and community sector.
