Ageism is not just a UK issue, in fact the United Nations has recognised this as an international one with them highlighting the importance of older people in society.
Research published recently in The Lancet suggests that one quarter of people over the age of 50 have felt discriminated against whilst doing everyday tasks.
A new survey commissioned by the Age Without Limits campaign reveals majority of people aged 50 and above feel the media and advertising depict older people in a negative and stereotypical way.
