Centre for Ageing Better has an exciting maternity cover opportunity for a research and evaluation focused individual to play a key part in our Evidence team as a Senior Evidence Manager. About the role
As Senior Evidence Manager you will be responsible for leading the implementation and further development of an ambitious package of research and evaluation activity in two of Ageing Better’s priority areas: healthy ageing and housing (specifically our work on the safety, condition and quality of existing housing stock). This will involve working closely with colleagues in the evidence team and wider organisation to support the completion of some current projects, and the development and initiation of new projects, using a range of methods including evidence synthesis, qualitative research and evaluation.
The successful candidate will have sound knowledge and experience of a wide-range of social research methods and approaches, experience of using research to influence change and of leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders. You will have high-quality analytical and critical appraisal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. We commission research and evaluation from others (such as academic teams) rather than carry out the research ourselves in-house, so experience of commissioning and contract management would be useful. An interest in Ageing Better’s agenda is essential. As a fixed-term maternity cover appointment, this role could be of interest to someone as a secondment opportunity, or as an opportunity for a high-potential individual who is looking to gain experience at Senior Manager Level.
