“It’s good to see an increase in the employment rate of women in their 50s and 60s. Good work can provide meaning, purpose and financial security that helps prepare for a good later life.
“There are also a wide range of economically and socially important jobs that too often go unpaid, particularly caring for loved ones, and it is often women who take up these roles.
“With rising state pension age, it’s important that people feel in control of their decision-making when it comes to choosing how and when they leave work.”
